Single dad, retail survivor, Training Specialist for Akamai, Inc.

After many successful years in retail sales and management, a career opportunity presented itself. At the height of Covid lockdowns, I was referred to apply for a job as a Support Specialist with Linode (acquired by Akamai, April 2022).

Not wanting to let the chance to escape from the Hellscape that retail can be, I applied. What did I have to lose? I was home getting paid my full salary while my store was closed. Nearly three years into my role, I have grown more than I ever could have imagined.

I am also fortunate to be a father to a beautiful 9 year old girl. She’s growing faster than dandelions in the early spring, but continues to impress and challenge me each and every day.
